There's No Need to Chase My Dreams

While it's important to never give up on my dreams, I have to remember not to chase them either.

The other day, as a friend was walking me to the bus stop to catch my bus home, I spotted my bus approaching. He suggested that if I ran I would catch it but I didn't feel like running. I decided to let it go. Seconds later, another bus arrived which I got on. During the journey our bus caught up with the one in front. Then our driver told us he was terminating early and advised us to transfer to the one in front. See, I did end up catching the first bus after all.

Earlier today I decided to catch the first bus that arrived, even though it would mean having to change later. When I got on the bus, I spotted another bus that is a direct route to my destination but I didn't feel like getting off. I figured I would stay on the bus I was on and catch another bus. When I got off the bus, my next bus was waiting at the bus stop and ready to leave. Further down the route, the bus I was in caught up with the other bus I had seen earlier. I knew it was the same bus because of the serial number at the back of it. My bus even ended up overtaking the one in front and I arrived at my destination way ahead of the one behind.

My destination represents my goal which has already happened; and the buses are the ways and means to achieve my dreams.

Chasing a dream suggests a lack of self-belief. All I have to do is let what has already happened unfold perfectly.

There's no need to chase my dreams. Everything is working out for the best.
